Do it Yourself Contactless sanitizer dispenser

During Lockdown, I found an old RO cabinet lying around unused. I contacted the RO mechanic and found out the mechanism used to control the flow of liquid in the machine. The solenoid relay which forms the heart of the mechanism was intact and could be reused.

The tank can be used to fill a soap solution or sanitizer to dispense it in a controlled manner and make it contactless.

Now the challenge was to how to control the liquid quantity based on Human Input, which had to be triggered automatically for which one option was Infrared Sensor .

The challenge with the Infrared sensor was that it triggered falsely with the switching on/off of the Electric Appliances nearby, therefore i tried my Hands on For the first time on an Ultrasonic Sensor.

To my Surprise, it worked superfast and without false triggers.

I used it with my Arduino Nano and 3D printed a Housing for the Ultrasonic Sensor, glued it to the bottom of the cabinet and made it functional.

The design was further made robust by changing the cabinets and installing Sensors inside.
